I’m in no mood to blog, owing to some personal stuff that has been troubling me.
And then I read the Guardian’s summary on what’s been happening in syria. Syrians are dying right, left and centre. Millions are displaced. US are uhm-ahmming their way through. UK voters apparently do not want military intervention in Syria for fear that this is “another Afghanistan or Iraq war”. Pope is asking people to pray for peace for Syria. John Kerry met up with Arab League and trying to get US to do some action in Syria, dammit (i think so… thats what he’s supporting).
And in all of this, I think…where are we? Are we turning a blind eye, an ignorant ear to our brothers and sisters in Syria? What do we care right cos we have our own firstworldproblems to sort out.
Please don’t forget the people out there, Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa…. Make dua for them and InsyaAllah that very dua kena aminkan by malaikat2 sekeliling for you too.
“In Saheeh Muslim and Sunan Ibn Majah, it is narrated from Abu Darda that the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said, ‘The Dua of a person for his Muslim brother in his absence will be answered. At his head there is an angel, and every time he prays for him for something good, the angel who has been appointed to be with him, says, ‘Ameen, may you have likewise.'”
And also, if you feel helpless like me, go to charity like Islamic relief to donate $$$ for those in more need than us.
PS. You know how our Iman goes up and down in cycles. I need to climb back up. Have to remind myself kerja-kerja jua but must make time to replenish my Iman.
